Great British Bake Off Winner Nadiya Hussain Reveals Why She’d Never Do All Stars Series

Nadiya Hussain may be one of The Great British Bake Off’s most-loved contestants ever, but don’t expect to see her back in the tent again any time soon.

The series six winner has revealed she would be reluctant to take part in any sort of All Stars series, admitting she wouldn’t want to put herself through the stress again.

Explaining she was “just quite happy with her trophy” after being crowned the 2015 champion, Nadiya said (via Digital Spy): “I don’t know that I would ever do something like [an All Stars series].

“Whoever puts themselves through something like that twice? Once was enough, thank you very much. It was so stressful.”

Nadiya Hussain won the sixth series of Bake Off in 2015

She continued: “Only people who have been in the tent will tell you how stressful it is to be in the actual tent. The perspiration is serious. Always wear dark colours because there’s a lot of sweating, and it’s really stressful. It is really, really stressful.

“But I think I’m just quite happy with my trophy, thank you very much. I don’t need another one. Never say never. Never say never. But my goodness, I would never deliberately put myself through that twice,” she added.

Since winning Bake Off, Nadiya has been a regular fixture on TV, fronting her own documentary The Chronicles Of Nadiya, as well as hosting Nadiya’s British Food Adventure, The Big Family Cooking Showdown, Nadiya Bakes and Nadiya’s Family Favourites.

She has also written five cookbooks, four children’s story and recipe books, a series of novels and an autobiography.

In 2019, she was honoured with an MBE for services to broadcasting and to the culinary arts.

Nadiya has had huge success since winning the show

And while it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing Nadiya back in the tent, there’s some familiar faces returning for this year’s Christmas and New Year specials of Bake Off.

Former contestants James Hillery from the 2017 series, Ruby Bhogal, from the 2018 series, and Rosie Brandreth-Poynter and Jamie Finn from the 2019 series return as they go head to head for the title of Christmas Star Baker.

For the New Year special, Bake Off winners Nancy Birtwhistle and Rahul Mandal return to the tent alongside 2019 contestants Helena Garcia and Henry Bird.
