Elliot Page Files For Divorce From Wife Emma Portner

Juno actor Elliot Page has filed for divorce from choreographer and dancer Emma Portner after three years of marriage.

Elliot submitted the documents in Manhattan on Tuesday, around two months after he came out as transgender, according to TMZ.

He and Emma confirmed the news of their divorce in a joint statement, which read (per People): “After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce following our separation last summer.

“We have the utmost respect for each other and remain close friends.”

Elliot, a regular on the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy, came out on 1 December last year, writing on Instagram how happy he was to be his “authentic self”.

“I love that I am trans,” he wrote.

Emma shared her own statement soon afterwards, expressing how proud she was of Elliot.

“I also ask for patience and privacy but that you join me in the fervent support of trans life every single day,” she said. “Elliot’s existence is a gift in and of itself. Shine on sweet E. Love you so much.”

More recently, he appeared in the Netflix originals The Umbrella Academy and Tales Of The City.
